1. LYMPHA PRESS® INCREASES LYMPH VESSEL FUNCTION IN LYMPHEDEMA
1.1 Journal of Innovative Optical Health Sciences Vol. 10, No. 2 (2016)
Effect of pneumatic compression therapy on lymph movement in lymphedema-affected extremities, as assessed by near-infrared fluorescence lymphatic imaging.
Aldrich MB, Gross D, Morror JR, Fife CE, Rasmussen JC.
This groundbreaking study is the first to demonstrate the direct effect of pneumatic compression on lymphatic vessel uptake and function in lymphedema affected extremities.
2. LYMPHA PRESS® COMPARED WITH IN-CLINIC MANUAL LYMPH DRAINAGE
2.1 Lymphology. 1998 Jun;31(2):56-64. A randomized study comparing manual lymph drainage with sequential pneumatic compression for treatment of postoperative arm lymphedema.
Johansson K, Lie E, Ekdahl C, Lindfeldt J.
This randomized trial compared Lympha Press® to MLD performed in-clinic. Lympha Press® and MLD were equally effective at reducing edema volume.
3. LYMPHA PRESS® USED TOGETHER WITH IN-CLINIC MANUAL LYMPH DRAINAGE / COMPLETE DECONGESTIVE THERAPY
3.1 Lymphology. 2004 Dec;37(4):202-5.
Severe lymphedema of the arm as a potential cause of shoulder trauma.
Avrahami R, Gabbay E, Bsharah B, Haddad M, Koren A, Dahn J, Zelikovsky A.
Patients with severe lymphedema and shoulder pain were treated with Lympha Press® and in-clinic MLD. Treatment decreased arm volume by an average of 170 ml, improved arm mobility and dramatically reduced pain.
3.2 Lymphlogie in Forschung und Praxis, 1999, Special Edition.
Treatment of monstrous elephantiasis.
Intensive inpatient treatment with MLD, bandaging, Lympha Press® and exercise enabled a young patient to resume normal activities.
4. VOLUME REDUCTION AND MAINTENANCE WITH LYMPHA PRESS® AND COMPRESSION STOCKINGS
4.1 Arch Surg. 1985 Oct;120(10):1116-9.
Sequential pneumatic compression for lymphedema. A controlled trial.
Richmand DM, O’Donnell TF Jr, Zelikovski A.
In this study, patients obtained safe and rapid reduction with Lympha Press® applied in an inpatient setting, averaging 45% loss in circumference. Follow up at three and six months showed that patients who were compliant with compression garments maintained 50% or more of their reduction.
4.2 J Vasc Surg. 1992 Oct;16(4):555-62; discussion 562-4.
Long-term results of compression treatment for lymphedema.
Pappas CJ, O’Donnell TF Jr.
Follow up of a group of 49 patients showed that treatment of lymphedema with Lympha Press® and compression stockings was associated with long-term maintenance of reduced limb girth in 90% of patients.
5. LYMPHA PRESS® FOR LYMPHEDEMA MANAGEMENT AT HOME
5.1 Lymphology, 45 (Suppl), 367-370.
Practical lymphedema self-management: An assessment of patient satisfaction and perceived effectiveness of treatment modalities.
Ashforth K, Cosentino J.
This survey found that 100% of patients using pneumatic compression in the home rated pneumatic compression more effective than self-applied MLD, bandaging, elastic/rigid and quilted compression.
5.2 Advance for Physical Therapy and Rehab Medicine, 23(15), 19-21 (2012)
Proper Pressure: Transitioning lymphedema patients to home care with pneumatic compression.
This review article summarizes the uses, recommendations and benefits of pneumatic compression therapy at home, including selection of appliances and types of patients for which this modality can be especially beneficial.
6. LYMPHA PRESS® FOR TREATMENT OF LIPEDEMA
6.1 Lymphology. 2011 Dec;44(4):178-82.
Lymphedema treatment decreases pain intensity in lipedema.
Szolnoky G, Varga E, Varga M, Tuczai M, Dósa-Rácz E, Kemény L.
In this study, treatment with MLD, compression therapy and Lympha Press® with Lympha Pants ® reduced pain associated with lipedema.
7. LYMPHA PRESS® FOR PAIN RELIEF
7.1 Pain. 2016 Sep;157(9):2000-11
Nonpainful wide-area compression inhibits experimental pain.
Honigman L, Bar-Bachar O, Yarnitsky D, Sprecher E, Granovsky Y.
In this study, compression with Lympha Pants® and Lympha Press Optimal® reduced the perception of experimental pain stimulus applied to the hands, showing that large-area lower-body compression may have an analgesic effect.
8. LYMPHA PRESS® FOR TREATMENT OF LYMPHATIC FILARIASIS
8.1 Natl Med J India. 2002 Jul-Aug;15(4):192-4.
Evaluation of sequential intermittent pneumatic compression for filarial lymphedema.
Manjula Y, Kate V, Ananthakrishnan N.
Lympha Press® treatment effectively reduced severe lymphedema caused by lymphatic filariasis, and significantly reduced the incidence of adenolymphangitis in these patients. The effect was not maintained after treatment was discontinued, indicating the need for ongoing therapy.
